Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup grapenuts cereal, original nuggets style
  • 1 cup of chopped walnuts or pecans
  • 1/4 tsp of salt
  • 1 tsp of vanilla
  • 1 tsp of baking powder
  • 1/2 cup of raisins

Directions:

  1. Add sugar to egg yolks and beat very well.
  2. Add cereal, nuts, salt, vanilla and baking powder.
  3. Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form; fold cereal mixture carefully into the egg whites. Pour inot 8 x 8 inch pan (buttered and sugared)
  4. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.
  5. May be serves as is, or a scoop of ice cream, or a dollop of whipped cream elevates this one step beyond.
