Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 2 (1/4 oz) packages yeast
  • 7 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 cups raisins
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tsp cinnamon

Directions:

  1. Scald milk, remove from heat, and add sugar, salt, butter and mashed potatoes.
  2. Let cool.
  3. Dissolve yeast in water, then mix with milk.
  4. Add raisins and flour. Stir.
  5. Let rise in warm place for about 11/2 hours.
  6. Then divide dough into 2 loaves.
  7. Then mix the following ingredients separately: 1/2 cup sugar, 2 teaspoons cinnamon,.
  8. 1/2 cup butter or margarine (melted)
  9. Then roll the set aside loaves out on a board and put half of butter, sugar and cinnamon mixture on each roll.
  10. Roll up as for a jelly roll and pinch edges together.
  11. Bake in loaf pans at 350 degrees to 375 degrees for 45 minutes.
  12. Makes 2 loaves.
