  1. Preheat the oven 180c and grease slab tin. Melt the butter in a saucepan large enough to hold all the remaining ingredients.
  2. Allow the butter to cool slightly then mix in the beaten egg and vanilla essence.
  3. Stir in remaining ingredients and mix together. Do not over-mix.
  4. Press evenly into a prepared slab tin.
  5. Cook about 20 minutes or until golden.
  6. Allow to cool - cut into squares.`
