Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup pumpkin , packed tight
  • 2 cups of sifted all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp ginger
  • 1 dash white pepper
  • 1 cup walnuts or 1 cup pecans

Directions:

  1. Cream shortening and sugar.
  2. Add eggs and pumpkin.
  3. Sift flour, baking powder, salt and spices together.
  4. Stir in dry ingredients with the sugar and shortening mixture.
  5. Add raisins and nuts.
  6. Bake 350 degrees for 10-15 mminutes.
