Ingredients:

  • 1 1/4 cups water, warm
  • 2 1/4 tsp dry yeast
  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 tsp salt

Directions:

  1. Mix warm water with yeast and let stand for a few minutes
  2. Mix flour and salt together
  3. Mix 1/2 of flour mixture into liquid, then add the rest of the flour and knead together
  4. Roll out thin for a crispy crust, or thicker for a softer, chewy crust.
  5. Pre-cook dough on a baking sheet covered with cornmeal, flipping once (to avoid a soggy crust once toppings are added)
  6. Once crust is partially cooked, pull out and top with favorite sauce, cheese and toppings, then put back in the oven until cheese is bubbly.
  7. This dough also is also great on the grill. Same process...pre-cook crust over low heat grill, flip and cook other side, remove and add toppings, then put back on the grill until cheese is melted. Once toppings are added the grill usually can be turned off and the residual heat will do the work for you if you put the lid down.
