Ingredients:

  1. Heat oven to 350°F Grease 8-inch square pan.
  2. Melt shortening and chocolate in saucepan, then remove from heat.
  3. Add sugar. Stir in eggs, pineapple and vanilla. Stir until blended.
  4. Add flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt and blend well.
  5. Add nuts. spoon into 8-inch square pan and spread evenly.
  6. Bake 35-40 minutes until done at edges - slightly soft in center. Cool in pan. Spread with icing.
  7. ICING: Stir together all ingredients, adding pineapple juice in small amounts, as needed to make a soft spreadable icing. If a little more is needed to make the icing spreadable, add it a few drops at a time.
