Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Take the car keys from all guests!
  2. Coat venison in flour
  3. Pour olive oil into stock pot cast iron is best
  4. Saute garlic
  5. Add flour coated venison and brown evenly
  6. Add all vegetables
  7. Sprinkle with salt and pepper
  8. Stir well
  9. Pour a glass of merlot for your guests and yourself
  10. Pour the remaining merlot over venison mixture
  11. Turn the heat to medium low and simmer
  12. Check occasionally stirring to ensure even cooking
  13. If additional liquid is needed add more merlot
  14. A second bottle from the larder might be necessary.
  15. 2 hours later the sweetest tenderest venison ever imagined will be ready for your table.
  16. Serve with homemade herb rolls and naturally blackberry merlot.
