Ingredients:

  • 175 g of plain flour (6oz)
  • 1 tsp of salt
  • 1 tsp of ground ginger
  • 1 tsp of ground cinnamon
  • 300 g (10oz) of oatmeal
  • 175 g (6oz) of molasses
  • 125 g (5oz) of butter
  • 100 g (4oz) of brown sugar
  • 150 ml (1/4 pint) of milk
  • 1 egg (medium sized , preferably kept at room temperature)
