Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/3 cup orange juice
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Directions:

  1. Place the first 4 ingredients in a saucepan and simmer until dates are soft.
  2. Remove from heat and add chocolate chips.
  3. Add eggs, orange juice and milk and stir.
  4. Combine baking soda, salt, walnuts and flour.
  5. Fold into date mixture.
  6. Pour into a greased 13 X 9 inch baking pan and bake for 30 minutes at 350 Deg.
  7. Allow to cool.
  8. Prepare glaze.
  9. Decorate the bars with the glaze.
  10. Cut into squares and serve.
