Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp cornmeal
  • 3/4 cup milk

Directions:

  1. Combine dry ingredients.
  2. Add milk and mix well.
  3. Stir in onions.
  4. Drop batter in small mounds into hot shortening.
  5. Fry until golden brown on both sides, turning once.
