Ingredients:

  • meat loaf ingredients
  • 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 egg
  • 1 small onion, chopped , to taste
  • 1 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 can tomato soup
  • 1/2 can tomato soup
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tbsp vinegar
  • 2 tbsp mustard
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350.
  2. Mix together the meat loaf ingredients. My personal preference is for a lower fat ground beef so the sauce won't be extremely greasy.
  3. Press into a baking dish (at least 1 1/2 quart or a little bigger).
  4. Put meat loaf in oven and then prepare the sauce.
  5. Mix the sauce ingredients well.
  6. Open oven and pour the sauce over the meat loaf.
  7. Continue cooking for a total of 1 1/2 hours.
  8. Sauce may look extremely soupy but don't worry; it will soak in as it cooks and after you remove from oven. The rest can be spooned over individual servings if desired.
