Ingredients:

  • 2 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup pure lard
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 5 cups flour

Directions:

  1. Cream sugar and lard until fluffy. Beat in eggs.
  2. Add milk with vanilla alternately with dry ingredients, and stir to combine.
  3. Chill for 1 hour before rolling and cutting.
  4. When ready to bake, preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  5. Roll dough 1/8” thick and cut into shapes with cookie cutters.
  6. Bake on sheets lined with parchment paper for 5 to 7 minutes, until very lightly browned around the edges.
  7. Store baked cookies in sealed container for 3-5 days before serving.
