Nancy's Boiled Salad Dressing

Ingredients:

  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup white vinegar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp mustard
  • 2 eggs

Directions:

  1. Stir Butter and flour together.
  2. Add milk and let cook in top of double boile, stirring constantly, until quite thick.
  3. Separate eggs and beat the egg whites until stiff.
  4. Beat egg yolks slightly, and add the salt, cayenne pepper, sugar, mustard, and vinegar then stir into the thickened milk mixture.
  5. Cook until thick like cream.
  6. Remove from heat and pour into the egg whites, stirring constantly.
