My Chicken Fried Steak

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 tsp cajun seasoning
  • 1/2 cup wine
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tbsp cajun seasoning
  • 1/2-1 tbsp season salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 4 cups peanut oil

Directions:

  1. Sprinkle 1/2 t. cajun seasoning and wine over steak. Let set 1 hour or overnight.
  2. Mix crackers, 1 cup flour, baking powder, and remaining seasonings in a bowl.
  3. Mix buttermilk and egg in separate bowl.
  4. Place 1/2 cup flour in separate bowl.
  5. Dip steak in flour, then egg mixture then in seasoned cracker crumbs.
  6. Fry coated steaks in a skillet with peanut oil until golden brown. Keep steaks warm in a 225 oven until ready to serve.
  7. You can make your cream gravy from the pan drippings.
