Buttermilk Cornbread

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda (rounded)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 cup buttermilk (may take a little more)
  • 2 tbsp oil

Directions:

  1. Preheat over to 425 degrees.
  2. Put oil in skillet and heat while mixing cornbread.
  3. Mix dry ingredients and form a well.
  4. Add egg and beat in the well.
  5. Add enough buttermilk to achieve near cake batter consistency. Mix well. Add heated oil. Mix well.
  6. Pour into hot skillet and bake for 20-25 minutes.
