Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Place barley and 1 1/2 cup water in a pan- bring to a boil and let simmer for 20 minute.
  2. Meanwhile, get a pan, melt the butter, add the onions and sautee for 5 minute.
  3. Add garlic, mushrooms and salt.
  4. Cover and cook, stirring occasionally until everything is tender, about 10-15 minute.
  5. Stir in wine and soy sauce.
  6. Add the sauteed things to the barley along with the 5 cups water.
  7. Add generous amounts of black pepper, to taste and simmer for another 20 minute.
  8. Serve and enjoy!
