Mushroom And Cheddar Cheese Pie

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Melt butter in large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add onion and cook 2 minutes.
  3. Add mushrooms, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce and lemon juice. Cook 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Drain mushroom mixture.
  5. Heat oven to 375-degrees.
  6. Combine mushrooms and cheese.
  7. Mix well.
  8. Turn into pastry shell.
  9. Arrange pastry strips, lattice fashion on top of filling (Use full top and cut design in it).
  10. Trim the ends even with edges of shell.
  11. Moisten and fold overhang over strip ends.
  12. Flute edges.
  13. Beat egg yolk and water.
  14. Brush over pastry.
  15. Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until pastry is golden.
  16. Serve hot or cold.
  17. Better to let cool for 5 to 10 minutes before cutting.
  18. Makes 6 to 8 slices.
