Ingredients:

  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 egg

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350. spray 13x9 in baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl mix sugar and flour. cut butter and put into mixture until course crumbs. remove 1 cup and set aside.
  3. To the mixture in a large bowl, add baking powder and salt. Using a fork, beat in vanilla and milk and egg. continue beating until a smooth batter forms. pour into pan.
  4. In a small bowl combine chocolatechips and walnuts. using a long flat spatula, spread over evenly the batter in the pan. bake for 35 minutes and then cool bars and cut into 24.
