Mom's Chocolate Gravy

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/8 cup cocoa
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup butter or 1/4 cup margarine
  • vanilla extract (to taste)

Directions:

  1. In a small bowl, mix dry ingredients well.
  2. Melt butter in a medium sauce pan over medium heat.
  3. Add dry ingredients, stirring constantly.
  4. Slowly stir in milk.
  5. Stir constantly and cook until thickened.
  6. Add vanilla extract to taste.
  7. Serve over biscuits.
