Ingredients:

  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 cups bananas, mashed
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/3 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 tsp banana extract
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tbsp milk (optional)

Directions:

  1. Cream butter and sugar. add eggs. beat well. add dry ingredients and condensed. milk, alternately. add mashed bananas. dough will be stiff. spread into 3 greased and floured cake pans. bake at 350 for 30 minutes. combine baking soda, sugar, buttermilk , butter and corn syrup in a pan slowly bring to a boil and cook for 4 minutes, stirring often. remove from heat and stir in banana extract. when cakes are done, remove from oven, spread glaze over cakes while thwy are still in the baking pans. cool for 15 minute remove from pans. cool completely on wire racks. mix cream cheese and powdered sugar. add milk if mixture is too thick. add vanilla. frost layers and sprinkle each with pecans. do not frost sides. allow the frosting to drip partially down the sides. this cake resemb.les a torte.
