Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups unbleached flour
  • 1 tbsp wheat germ
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 1 oz raisins
  • 2 tbsp egg
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • 1/2 tbsp sugar

Directions:

  1. Spray a baking sheet with non stick spray and preheat the oven to 450 F.
  2. Sift together 1 cup of unbleached white flour reserving 1/2 cup to flour the board and your hands, 1 cup of whole wheat flour, The wheat germ and the flaxseed meal, and the baking powder, salt and sugar. Toss with the raisins until they are coated with flour.
  3. Combine the milk and mayonnaise and stir into the flour mixture until you have a sticky dough.
  4. Flour a board and your hands using the remaining half cup of flour, using just enough to make the dough less sticky.
  5. Knead 3 times then pat out into an 8 circle. Cut into 10 wedges. Arrange on the baking sheet, not touching.
  6. Bake at 450 F for 15 minutes
