Ingredients:

  • 2 cups flour
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 2 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Directions:

  1. Begin by mixing all the dry ingredients together for the muffins.
  2. Mix all the wet ingredients together in a separate bowl.
  3. Combine the wet and dry ingredients, just until mixed - don't overmix!
  4. Pour into muffin tins that are greased with butter ONLY on the bottoms.
  5. Place into preheated oven - 375 degrees.
  6. Bake for 15 minutes, then turn them and bake for 5 minutes more.
  7. Let muffins cool slightly, then remove from muffin tins.
  8. Put the topping ingredients into 2 bowls. Roll each muffin top in the butter then the cinnamon-sugar mix.
  9. Eat while still warm.
