  1. In a large bowl, combine dry gelatin and boiling water. Mix well to
  2. Dissolve gelatin. Add enough water to reserved pineapple juice to make 1 1/2 cups liquid. Add to gelatin mixture. Mix well to combine.
  3. Stir in pineapple.
  4. Refrigerate until partially set. Gently fold Cool Whip Free, cherries, and cottage cheese. Evenly pour into an 8-by-8-inch dish.
  5. Refrigerate until firm, about 3 hours. Cut into 8 servings.
