Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Combine egg, sugar, and finely chopped dates in a bowl; mix well.
  3. Stir in 1 1/2 teaspoons lemon juice and baking soda.
  4. Add a mixture of flour, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves alternately with pureed persimmons, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Stir in chopped walnuts.
  6. Spread in a greased and floured 9x13-inch baking pan and bake for 25 minutes, or until light brown.
  7. Cool for 5 minutes.
  8. Glaze with a mixture of powdered sugar and 2 tablespoons lemon juice.
  9. Cool completely before cutting into bars.
