Ingredients:

  • 6 tbsp of butter
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1/2 cup of milk
  • 1 1/2 cups of flour
  • 1 tsp of baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp of salt
  • 1/ 1/2 cups of chopped pecans
  • 1/3 cup of sugar

Directions:

  1. Cream the butter and the sugar.
  2. Add the eggs, milk and lemon rind.
  3. Sift together dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture.
  4. Stir in nuts, mix lightly.
  5. Don't over beat or it will get tough.
  6. Spoon into a greased 9 x 5 loaf pan.
  7. Bake at 350 degrees for one hour or until it tests done.
  8. Immediately pour over the loaf, the 1/3 cup of sugar and lemon glaze whiile the bread is still hot!.
  9. Cool in pan on rack.
  10. Wrap well in foil and refrigerate.
