Microwave Chocolate Chip Bars

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine, softened
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • 1 1/4 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup walnuts (optional)

Directions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, cream butter and brown sugar.
  2. Add egg, milk and vanilla; mix well.
  3. Combine flour, baking powder and salt; add to creamed mixture.
  4. Stir in 1/2 cup chocolate chips and walnuts (if using).
  5. Spread into greased 8-inch square microwave-safe dish.
  6. Sprinkle with remaining chocolate chips.
  7. Microwave, uncovered, on high for 5 minutes or until bars test done, rotating a quarter turn each minute.
  8. Cool before cutting.
