Kentucky Caramel Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cup. brown sugar (firmly packed)
  • 1 cup. cream
  • 1/2 cup. butter
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 cup. candied fruit (optional)
  • 1 cup. pecans

Directions:

  1. Stir together the brown sugar, 1/2 cup of cream, butter, and salt.
  2. Cook stirring often until mixture forms soft ball.
  3. Cool for 5 minutes.
  4. Stir in rest of cream and the fruits and nuts.
  5. Serve warm or cold over ice cream or cake.
