Kahlua Savory Stuffing

Ingredients:

  • 3 qts. coarse day old bread crumbs
  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 2 cups raisins
  • 1/2 to 3/4 cup broth
  • 1/3 cup kahlua
  • 2 tsp orange zest
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp dried sage
  • 1/2 tsp pepper

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bake bread crumbs for 5 minutes. Stir and continue to bake for 5 more minutes until lightly toasted. Remove from oven and place crumbs in a large bowl. Set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, melt butter and add vegetables; saute lightly.
  3. Remove from heat and add the balance of ingredients.
  4. Pour over bread crumbs and toss to moisten evenly, adding additional broth if necessary.
  5. Stuff turkey.
  6. Makes about 3 quarts of stuffing, enough for a 12-14 lb turkey.
