Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground cloves
  • 2 1/2 lbs chicken pieces
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 (24 oz) container chow mein noodles
  • 2 large oranges

Directions:

  1. Mix together flour, salt, pepper and spices in a paper bag.
  2. Add chicken pieces, one at a time, and shake to coat evenly.
  3. In heavy skillet, brown chicken in butter, until golden on all sides.
  4. Combine orange juice, soy sauce and brown sugar; pour over chicken in skillet.
  5. Cover tightly and cook for 30 to 40 minutes, or until chicken is tender.
  6. Meanwhile heat chicken chow mein according to directions.
  7. Spoon hot chow mein onto a serving platter and arrange chicken attractively on top.
  8. Pour orange sauce into a separate serving bowl.
  9. Garnish with orange wedges.
