Italian Lasagna

Ingredients:

  • 1 (16 oz) package lasagna noodles
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 1/2-2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 3/4 tsp pepper
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 (1 quart) can whole tomato
  • 1 (16 oz) can tomato sauce
  • 1 tbsp oregano
  • 1 tbsp basil

Directions:

  1. Cook lasagne noodles according package instructions.
  2. While cooking noodles, brown the hamburger with onion and garlic in the oil.
  3. Drain fat.
  4. Add sugar, pepper, salt, tomatoes and tomato sauce.
  5. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  6. Slice both lbs of cheese.
  7. Mix oregano and basil together in a separate bowl.
  8. In a 9x13-inch dish layer noodles, cheese, sauce, and then spices.
  9. Repeat for 2 or 3 layers.
  10. Bake at 375 for 1/2 hour.
  11. You can freeze lasagne and cook for one hour.
