Ingredients:

  • 3 -3 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tsp dried italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp oil

Directions:

  1. In a large bowl, combine 1 1/2 C flour, sugar, yeast, seasoning and salt.
  2. Gradually add oil and water, beating with whisk or mixer on low till well mixed.
  3. Add in remaining flour to make a soft dough.
  4. Knead dough till smooth, about 3 minutes.
  5. Cover with a towel and let rest 10 minutes.
  6. Roll dough into a 14X10 rectangle, and layer deli meats and cheese down center third of dough from end to end.
  7. With a sharp knife, make slits on both outer thirds of the dough about one inch apart.
  8. Alternating sides, fold the strips over filling at an angle, braiding the dough.
  9. Preheat oven to 400 and let loaf rise till the oven is ready.
  10. Bake till golden, about 25 minutes.
