Imperial Fried Walnuts

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups water
  • 2 cups walnuts , lg. pieces
  • 1/4 cup sugar

Directions:

  1. Bring 3 cups water to a rolling boil in deep saucepan.
  2. Add walnuts; boil 1 minute.
  3. Rinse under hot water; drain.
  4. Toss walnuts with sugar.
  5. Heat 1/2 inch oil to 350 degrees in deep saucepan.
  6. With slotted spoon, add half the walnuts to the oil.
  7. Fry, stirring constantly, about 5 minutes or until golden.
  8. Repeat with remaining nuts.
  9. Sprinkle with salt.
  10. Cool on foil-lined tray, separating pieces.
  11. Store in airtight container.
