Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup lard (i use shortening it makes it flakier, besides , the girls started using shortening when they baked for their own familes)
  • 1/4 cup boiling water
  • 1 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder

Directions:

  1. Have lard (shortening) at room temperature, put in bowl and add boiling water.
  2. Stir with a fork until creamy.
  3. Add flour, sifted with salt and baking powder
  4. Chill
  5. Makes one two crust pie
