Hot Milk Sponge Cake With Coconut Topping

Ingredients:

  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cup sugar
  • 2 tsp, vanilla
  • 2 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 ttbsp. margarina
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk or cream
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
  • 1 cup shreded coconut

Directions:

  1. In mixing bowl, beat well eggs and add sugar and vanilla, et aside
  2. Combine separately flour, baking powder and salt.
  3. With a rubber spatula Fol. Dry ingredients into eggmixture.
  4. In a small aucepan boil milk and margarine… then add slowly to batter, stirring gently . Pour into well greased and floured 7 x 12 “or 9x9” cake pan. Bake 30 – 35 minutes
  5. Coconut Topping
  6. Combineall ingredientsand spread on cake and broil fr 2 – 4 minutes until brown.
