Hot 5 Bean Salad

Ingredients:

  • 8 slices bacon
  • 1 can lima beans
  • 1 can red beans
  • 1/4 cup bacon grease
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 tbsp salt
  • 3/4 cup vinegar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 dash pepper

Directions:

  1. Fry bacon and crumble.
  2. Drain all beans and mix with crumbled bacon.
  3. Mix bacon grease, cornstarch, sugar, salt and pepper.
  4. Then combine vinegar and water and add this to the other dressing mixture.
  5. Mix with beans and heat through on stove.
  6. Serve warm.
