Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Core apples and cut into eighths.
  2. Peel if desired; it's not necessary.
  3. Place in large, heavy pot with the lemon slices, cinnamon sticks and water.
  4. Cover and bring to a boil.
  5. Reduce heat and simmer, stirring often.
  6. Cook until apples are soft, 15 minutes or so.
  7. Remove lemon and cinnamon; stir in sugar.
  8. Put mixture into food processor and pulse until smooth.
  9. Taste and add more sugar if you like.
  10. Store in the refrigerator.
