Hang Around French Toast

Ingredients:

  • 1 loaf french bread
  • 8 eggs
  • 3 cups milk
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • pinch cinnamon
  • dash salt
  • topping
  • 2 sticks butter
  • 2 tbsp corn syrup
  • pinch cinnamon
  • 1.5 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • dash salt
  • 1/2 tsp maple flavor

Directions:

  1. **NIGHT BEFORE**
  2. Slice bread into 20 pieces
  3. Butter 13x9 dish
  4. Place bread in 3 rows, overlapping
  5. Combine all other bread items with electric mixer
  6. Pour over bread to cover all slices, lifting and spooning mixture in between all pieces
  7. Cover and place in fridge overnight
  8. **NEXT MORNING**
  9. Preheat oven to 350
  10. Cream together all topping items
  11. Spread over bread using it all
  12. Bake uncovered 40 minutes or until golden
  13. **MAKING SYRUP**
  14. Heat to boiling all syrup items except maple at medium heat
  15. Stir constantly
  16. Remove from heat then add maple flavoring
  17. ***can use bought syrup if you choose, it is just as good. or pour bought syrup in boiler and heat...I doubt they'll know the difference***
