Bananas Foster French Toast

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375*, slice bread.
  2. For batter, whisk eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla and salt.
  3. Pour into a shallow dish-one that can hold 4 slices, like a casserole.
  4. Soak bread in batter 1-1 1/2 minutes.
  5. Then flip slices over and soak 1-1 1/2 minutes more.
  6. Now, heat an ovenproof skillet over medium heat
  7. Add oil to the skillet, then add the soaked bread slices.
  8. Saute on one side until golden brown (about 2-3 minutes).
  9. Flip the bread over, immediately transfer the skillet to the oven, and bake for 10 minutes.
  10. The toast will puff up-like a souffle.
  11. While the French toast is in the oven, make the quick Bananas Foster Syrup.
  12. Bananas Foster Syrup-.
  13. In a large saute pan over medium heat, stir together butter, brown sugar, maple syrup, dark rum and cinnamon.
  14. When Mixture is Syrupy, toss fruit in syrup just till heated through, 1 minute.
  15. Spoon over French toast and garnish with pecans.
