Grandma's Sweet Potatoes

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 cup pecan halves
  • 5 -6 large yams

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350.
  2. Cut yams into quarters and boil until fork slides out very easily. Drain and peel skins off.
  3. With a mixer, combine yams with sugar, 1/2 stick butter, and evaporated milk until there are no lumps.
  4. In seperate bowl, combine brown sugar, stick of melted butter, flour and pecan halves.
  5. Spread yams in a pan and pour pecan mixture over top. swirl through with a knife.
  6. Bake 45 minutes.
