Grandma's E-Z Peanut Butter Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1 well-beaten egg (extra-large egg yields best results)
  • 1 cup flour

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350-degrees.
  2. Combine all ingredients in mixing bowl.
  3. Mix well with a spoon.
  4. Shape dough into 1-inch round balls.
  5. Place 2 inches apart on cookie sheet.
  6. Press balls flat with fork dipped in extra sugar.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes.
  8. Cookies should not be too brown.
  9. Remove from oven and allow to cool on cookie sheet for one minute, then remove to wire racks.
