Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup shortening
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Directions:

  1. Cream together sugar and shortening. Add molasses, and egg. Blend well.
  2. Sift togther salt, flour, baking soda and cinnamon. Slowly add to shortening mixture. Mix well.
  3. Roll in balls, then in sugar.
  4. Place on greased baking sheet, and press lightly with a fork.
  5. Bake at 350F for 8-10 minutes.
