Good Morning Coffee Cake

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 cup nuts, chopped (optional)
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp hot water

Directions:

  1. Butter a 9 x 13 pan.
  2. Cream sugar and butter together.
  3. Add eggs and mix well.
  4. Sift together flour and baking powder.
  5. Add flour mixture to sugar mixture alternating with milk.
  6. Pour 1/2 the batter into pan.
  7. Combine ingredients for crumb mixture.
  8. Top batter with 1/2 crumb mixture.
  9. Pour remaining batter over crumb mixture.
  10. Top with remaining crumb mixture.
  11. Drizzle melted butter over top.
  12. Bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes.
  13. Mix together glaze ingredients.
  14. Pour glaze over top immediately after removing from oven.
