Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup molasses
  • 3 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp ginger
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Directions:

  1. Mix sugar, shortening, egg, and molasses. Add in remaining ingredients and mix.
  2. Roll into balls, then roll balls into sugar.
  3. Bake 10-12 minutes at 350 degrees.
