Ingredients:

  • 1 cup shortening
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp allspice
  • 1 1/2 cups figs ( fig
  • 1/2 cup pecans

Directions:

  1. Sift together flour, salt,baking soda, cinnamon and allspice set aside
  2. Combine shorting and sugar: add eggs and vanilla.
  3. Add flour mixture and blend until smooth.
  4. Add fig preserves.
  5. Drop by by teaspoon onto well greased cookie sheet.
  6. Bake 8 to 10 min at 350°F.
