Easy Vegetable Batter

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 3/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 quart canola oil

Directions:

  1. Sift ingredients together.
  2. Add egg and water.
  3. Beat until smooth.
  4. Pour oil into a deep skillet and heat to medium heat.
  5. Dip vegetables a few at a time into the batter.
  6. Drop into heated oil and fry 2 to 3 minutes, turn one time.
  7. Cook until brown.
  8. Drain on paper towels.
