Creamy Peppermint Patties

Ingredients:

  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tsp peppermint extract
  • 9 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 3 tbsp shortening

Directions:

  1. In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese and extract until smooth.
  2. Gradually add confectioners' sugar, beating well.
  3. Shape into 1-inch balls and place on wax papper.
  4. Flatten into patties and refrigerate about an hour.
  5. In a microwave, melt the chips and shortening stirring every 30 seconds.
  6. Dip patties into the melted chocolate and place back on wax paper.
  7. Store in the refrigerator.
