Chocolate Chip Muffins With Sugar Topping

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup miniature chocolate chip
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup oil
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar

Directions:

  1. Heat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Line with paper baking cups or grease bottoms only of 12 muffin cups.
  3. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off.
  4. In medium bowl, combine flour, 1/2 cup sugar, baking powder, salt and chocolate chips.
  5. Stir in egg, milk and oil just until dry ingredients are moistened. (Batter will be lumpy.).
  6. Spoon batter into prepared muffin cups, filling 2/3 full.
  7. In small bowl, combine topping ingredients.
  8. Sprinkle evenly over muffins.
  9. Bake at 400 degrees F. for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Run knife around edges to loosen; immediately remove from pan.
  11. Serve warm.
