  1. Preheat oven to 350F.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, bananas, milk and vanilla. Combine the flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt. Add to the banana mixture and mix just until combined. Fold in nuts, if desired. Transfer to a greased 9 x 5 x 3 loaf pan.
  3. Bake at 350F for 60 to 65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pan to a wire rack.
  4. (I confess that I forgot to add the milk to my loaf. It came out just fine, although if one added the milk, the texture may come out differently than my picture. My loaf also took 75 minutes to bake.)
