Caramelised Walnuts Made With Fresh Grape Juice

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups walnut halves
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 pinch cinnamon

Directions:

  1. Take aluminium foil and then line your oven tray with it.
  2. Brush it lightly with oil and set aside.
  3. Put the nuts on a dry oven tray.
  4. Pre-heat your oven to 180°C.
  5. Roast the nuts in the pre-heated oven for 5 minutes or until lightly toasted.
  6. Remove from oven and allow to cool.
  7. Take a pan and in it, put the brown sugar, grape juice, salt and cinnamon.
  8. Stir and cook on medium flame{without boiling} until the sugar has melted completely.
  9. Bring it to a boil.
  10. Lower flame slightly and boil for 10-15 minutes or until the mixture turns into a thick syrup.
  11. Remove the pan from heat.
  12. Add the roasted walnuts.
  13. Stir well to coat the nuts in the delicious syrup.
  14. Line an oven tray with aluminium foil.
  15. Lift each walnut piece with a fork.
  16. Place it on the lined tray.
  17. Allow the caramelised walnuts to cool completely.
  18. Once the walnuts have cooled completely,store them in between sheets of waxed paper in an airtight container.
  19. Store for upto 2 days.
