Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups butter (3 sticks)
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 5 roman beauty apples - peeled, cored & chopped
  • 1 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 2 1/4 tsp. vanilla
  • 4 tbsp. butter
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

Directions:

  1. CAKE
  2. Cream butter and sugars together until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla.
  4. Combine all dry ingredients together and slowly add to egg mixture.
  5. Mixture will be thick and sticky.
  6. Stir in apples and pecans and dump into a buttered and floured 9x13 pan.
  7. Bake at 325 for 50 - 60 minutes.
  8. Let cool for 10 minutes.
  9. CARAMEL GLAZE
  10. Melt butter in saucepan.
  11. Add sugars and salt.
  12. Cook stirring frequently for 2 minutes.
  13. Stir in cream and cook for another 2 minutes stirring constantly.
  14. Put fork holes in the cooled dump cake and pour carmel glaze over the top.
  15. Serve while warm.
  16. Top with ice cream or whipped cream if desired.
